Matheus Pucinelli advanced to the Quito Challenger final after defeating Heredia 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 on clay in the semifinals, securing a spot in Sunday’s deciding match.
Pucinelli controlled the opener, taking the first set 6-3 without allowing Heredia to gain a foothold. Heredia responded in the second, closing it out 6-4 to level the match.
In the third set, the Brazilian regained control from the start and converted his advantage into a 6-4 win to seal the victory.
Final awaits
Pucinelli plays the final this Sunday in Quito. His opponent and match time have yet to be confirmed.
